STADIUM MAINTENANCE SUPV
SUMMARY:
The Stadium Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of athletic facilities. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.
TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides close supervision of the work of subordinate employees by establishing work schedules, assigning specific duties, providing clear, explicit, and detailed instructions, and monitoring and reviewing the work on a regular basis.
Ensures adherence to instructions, deadlines, proper procedures, upkeep of athletic facilities, and security for locking and unlocking doors.
Inspects athletic facilities, such as coaches’ offices, dressing rooms, and sports fields, for needed maintenance or repairs.
Assigns work to a small-sized staff of temporary or seasonal employees based upon nature of job.
Contacts maintenance department for major repairs and orders building supplies.
Keeps abreast of upcoming sporting events and prepares appropriate areas by marking fields, assembling risers, and cleaning facilities.
Performs minor maintenance, such as painting bleachers, mowing grass, and trimming shrubbery.
Meets with visiting teams in order to provide keys and refreshments on game days.
Maintains and services equipment such as lawn mowers, weed eaters, and spray painters.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of athletic facility preparation requirements for various athletic events.
Ability to operate and service equipment used in maintenance and preparation of athletic facilities.
Ability to assign job tasks to seasonal employees performing routine maintenance and evaluate effectiveness of routines.
Ability to perform minor maintenance on athletic facilities and equipment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus six months of experience in maintaining athletic facilities or a related area.
Additional requirements determined by the institution for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Arkansas Division of Higher Education.
OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
