UAF ASSOC DIR OF AR UNION
SUMMARY:
The University of Arkansas Fayetteville (UAF) Associate Director of Arkansas Union is responsible for the administrative operations and procedures of the Arkansas Union. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.
TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:
Develops policies and procedures regarding union operations and recommends changes as required. Manages the daily activities and operations of the Arkansas Union.
Implements rules and regulations and ensures policies are compatible with established goals and objectives.
Coordinates the union operations with support structures for the food services units, identification and information services, campus activities, and university programs.
Develops and manages the total Arkansas Union operations budget. Designs financial systems and maintains the accounting, cash flow/handling, and payroll functions.
Prepares financial reports and assists in the development of bids and contracts for leased shops.
Coordinates the purchasing of major equipment and works with vendors in negotiating prices and delivery schedules. Processes the required documentation in the development of bid specifications and contract requirements.
Directs and supervises the personnel functions for the Arkansas Union which includes administration, maintenance, and custodial services.
Negotiates professional services contracts, as needed, to maintain level of services or special events.
Oversees the building reservation system, maintenance of the facility, building equipment, security renovations, and repairs.
Represents the director at various meetings and assumes responsibilities of the director during his absence.
Oversees the game room and the night and weekend operations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of university and union polices and procedures for operations. Knowledge of human resources and supervisory management. Knowledge of general accounting and budgetary procedures. Knowledge of program planning and financial management. Ability to supervise a varied subordinate personnel staff with multiple functions. Ability to coordinate the work activities of several operations at the same time. Ability to maintain and prepare financial records and other reports. Ability to plan and project future needs regarding the Arkansas Union operations.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor
