SPECIAL EVENTS WORKER

SUMMARY:

The Special Events Worker is responsible for the set-up of facilities and the operation of multi-media equipment for special events. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:

Receives work orders to set up multi-media equipment for special events and checks equipment availability.

Sets-up sound systems, lighting equipment, platforms, and other stage props, such as pianos and chairs.

Operates multi-media equipment during special events and provides assistance to other operators.

Inventories equipment and reports needs to superiors.

Performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating and replacing parts.

 Performs other duties as assigned. 

SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS:

This position may involve occasional work after normal hours for special events.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:

Knowledge of sound, lighting and other types of multi-media equipment and set-up techniques used in special events. Ability to set up props and multi-media equipment. Ability to operate, adjust and maintain various types of multi-media equipment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.

Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Arkansas Division of Higher Education.

OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
