RECREATION COORDINATOR
SUMMARY:
The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for recreational and intramural activities for students and faculty. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.
TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:
Plans and designs recreation programs for students and faculty.
Recommends equipment and facility arrangements for recreational purposes and initiates purchase requests.
Plans social activities, workshops, tournaments, and various recreational competitions.
Develops promotional information concerning upcoming events, releases information to the media, and designs graphic materials to advertise events.
Coordinates scheduling of facilities and events.
Evaluates effectiveness of programs, prepares reports on student conduct and building usage, and makes changes accordingly.
Handles complaints and other inquiries.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of recreation programs and activities. Knowledge of recreation facilities and equipment requirements Ability to plan, design, and coordinate recreational activities. Ability to schedule facilities and equipment for recreational purposes. Ability to develop promotional information related to recreation programs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus three years of experience in recreational program activities or a related area.
Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Arkansas Division of Higher Education.
OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
