INST INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COORD
SUMMARY:
The Institution Information Technology Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the information technology, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming operations at an institution. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.
TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversees the information technology systems programming support for implementation and migration of new enterprise computer software applications.
Assists with technical issues with new or upgraded software/hardware implementation.
Makes recommendations on current system enhancements and future data processing projects.
Monitors system performance and makes adjustments to ensure operating efficiency.
Diagnoses causes of operational problems, recommends solutions, and implements corrective action as directed.
Performs daily computer server system performance checks.
Creates and maintains computer user accounts for all users.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of computer applications and software. Knowledge of system development. Knowledge of computer technology and computer programming techniques. Knowledge of business computing system analysis. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to develop and recommend departmental goals, policies, and procedures. Ability to lead computer project teams and provide guidance and assistance. Ability to design, plan, and manage computer system and application software projects.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
The formal education of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; plus three years of experience in information technology operations, including one year in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Arkansas Division of Higher Education.
OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
