COOP EXTENSION SRV PRG ASST
SUMMARY:
The Cooperative Extension Services Program Assistant is responsible for handling administrative and statistical information for an off-campus operation in an institution of higher education. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.
TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:
Gathers information on prospective programs and disseminates to appropriate professional staff member.
Receives inquiries from individuals and groups pertaining to specific programs and accesses collected information incorporating goals, objectives and needs of participants.
Processes payroll for professional and clerical employees and forwards to campus administrative offices.
Prepares employee matching benefits by fund and enters voucher information into computer.
Maintains various state and federal retirement journals and submits appropriate forms to respective agencies.
Assists supervisor in preparation of budget by compiling and reviewing pertinent data.
Prepares various promotional materials, such as pamphlets and brochures to explain operation of organization.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of general office methods and techniques. Knowledge of administrative and statistical information collection methods. Ability to review and provide collected information concerning program goals and objectives. Ability to process various administrative documentation, such as payroll and personnel information. Ability to compile information into report form.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of experience in general office work with and emphasis in collecting and compiling administrative and/or statistical data.
Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Arkansas Division of Higher Education.
OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
